Greetings…

My name is Solo Mollel, co-founder of Above Safaris. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for believing and trusting in us for your adventures in Tanzania. Our team will forever cherish those memories and we hope that you will, too.

2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone around the world. Here in Tanzania at Above Safaris, we ran our final trip in March, and sadly all upcoming trips have been cancelled as travel continues to be restricted in certain parts of the world and widespread uncertainty around COVID-19 continues to be our reality. As a tour operator, we never expected anything like this. We were excited to see what 2020 would bring, as our little company grew bigger and more opportunities continued to emerge for us. Instead, we’re struggling to figure out how to keep the company afloat and our staff and contractors supported during this incredibly difficult time. Many of you met our incredible staff, guides and drivers, all of whom rely on the tourism industry to provide for their families and, without a social safety net in Tanzania, many of them are struggling to feed their families, fund their healthcare, and pay for their children’s school fees.

We realize this time is difficult for most people but we are committed to continuing to support our community by leaning on our friends in this time of hardship. We’ve launched a fundraiser to help get the company through this difficult time - to cover necessary expenses that will keep the company able to open post-COVID, and provide stipends to our Tanzanian staff and contractors.
