Serengeti National Park

The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word for “Endless Plain,” and the name holds true. Home to the largest population of lions in Africa, and the only place to see the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeest and zebras, Serengeti protects the largest single movement of wildlife on earth.

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire is named for the river that runs through this national park, providing fresh water to herds of animals flocking to the park during the dry season. The park is often compared to Serengeti because of its wide open savannah and great diversity of wildlife. By far, the most impressive part of Tarangire is the over 3,000 elephants that call it home during the year.

NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

This conservation area is known for the Ngorongoro Crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed three million years ago. A World Heritage Site, Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 25,000 animals. The views of Ngorongoro’s natural walls enclosing the crater are incredible - especially as you’re watching some of the rare black rhinos in the plains.
